Luxury Vinyl Plank in Pataskala, OH

Luxury vinyl plank gives you the look of a wood floor in the rooms where a wood floor would be a bad idea — kitchens, entryways, basements, anywhere with pets or a lot of traffic. We fit it over a properly prepared subfloor, because LVP is thin, and thin floors show whatever is underneath them. Professionally installed across Pataskala.

Luxury Vinyl Plank in Pataskala

Built for Pataskala homes.

Pataskala is the growth end of Licking County. It was a small village until 1996, when it merged with Lima Township and jumped to 28.72 square miles, and the population has kept climbing since — 14,962 in 2010, 17,886 at the 2020 census, a 19.5% rise in a decade. It sits about 19 miles east of Columbus, which is why so much of what we fit here is going into houses barely old enough to need it.

Pataskala is a different kind of flooring town from Newark or Granville, and the reason is a boundary change. Until 1996 it was a village; the merger with Lima Township that year took it to 28.72 square miles overnight and turned it into a place with room to build. The population went from 14,962 in 2010 to 17,886 in 2020, up 19.5%, and its 19 miles from Columbus is what drove it.

What that means underfoot is a lot of relatively young houses, and young houses have their own flooring pattern. They arrive with builder-grade carpet and thin sheet vinyl chosen to hit a price, and somewhere between year five and year eight the owners have had enough of it. That is a large share of what we get called for here, and it is straightforward work when the subfloor has been treated properly since it was built.

The two things worth checking on newer construction are flatness and moisture, and they matter more than people expect. Open-plan layouts are the norm in houses of this era, which means one continuous run of plank crossing an entry, a kitchen and a living area with no doorway to break it up. A long uninterrupted run shows every deviation in the deck beneath it — a high spot at a panel joint reads as a ridge, a low spot goes hollow — so the deck gets checked against tolerance before anything is ordered, not after.

Where there is a slab, particularly on the newer south and west edges, moisture is the question. Concrete releases moisture for a long time, and a slab that reads high is not a reason to abandon a plan but it is a reason to change the underlayment or the product. That is a decision to make with a meter on the floor rather than an assumption.

The other Pataskala pattern is scale. People here tend to do a whole floor at once rather than one room at a time, because the whole house is the same age and the same carpet. That is where financing through Synchrony Home tends to come up — 6, 12 and 36-month terms at 0% for qualifying customers, depending on the size of the purchase — and it is often the difference between doing the ground floor properly and doing half of it now.

We are about twenty minutes away, so bringing samples out and coming back is easy.

Luxury Vinyl Plank in Pataskala, questions

Is luxury vinyl plank waterproof?

Water-resistant and waterproof constructions are both available. Which one suits your home depends on the room, the subfloor and how the space gets used — we go through that at the in-home appointment.

Can LVP go over my existing floor?

Sometimes. We inspect the subfloor and existing surface first and explain any leveling, repair or removal that is needed. Your new floor performs best over a clean, dry, stable base.

0% APR for 12 months

6,12,36 months 0% depends on purchase size.
