Commercial Flooring in Groveport

Built for Groveport homes.

Groveport was settled in 1803 and formed as a city in 1846, when the rival towns of Wert's Grove and Rarey's Port merged — both of them sitting on the Ohio and Erie Canal, which is where the name comes from. The 2020 census counted 6,009 residents. It is now a logistics town, with Rickenbacker and the warehouses around it, and that shapes both the residential and the commercial work we do here.

Groveport's origin is two towns rather than one. Wert's Grove and Rarey's Port were rivals sitting along the Ohio and Erie Canal, and they merged in 1846 to form the city, taking half a name from each. Settlement in the area dates to 1803. The 2020 census counted 6,009 people across about nine square miles.

The modern town is defined by logistics. Rickenbacker International Airport and Air National Guard Base anchored the region's shift into warehousing, and Amazon, FedEx, Gap, Eddie Bauer and VistaPrint all operate here. That matters to us in two ways.

On the residential side, it means a working town with a substantial stock of mid-century and post-war housing alongside the older canal-era properties near the center. The older houses have plank decks, settled joists and layered previous floors; the newer ones have plywood decks and the same accumulation of successive flooring. Both need the same first step, which is looking at what is underneath before pricing what goes on top.

On the commercial side, Groveport is one of the places we get asked about office and light industrial floors, and the specification is genuinely different. Commercial traffic is an order of magnitude above residential — a reception area sees more footfall in a week than a family room sees in a year — so it needs commercial-rated carpet tile or a higher abrasion class in hard surface. Just as importantly, it needs a schedule that works around the business. We visit the site, work out what can be closed and when, and phase the work rather than shutting a whole floor.

Entry matting is worth more than it costs on any commercial floor here. Most of what wears a floor is grit carried in on shoes, and stopping it in the first few feet extends the life of everything past it.

We bring the showroom to Groveport. Residential appointments are complimentary and in your home; commercial work is quoted per project after a site visit.
