Hardwood Flooring in Pickerington, OH
Hardwood is the floor people keep. Real wood, chosen for species, color, plank width and finish against your rooms rather than off a chart, and installed over a subfloor we have checked for moisture first — because in central Ohio, moisture is what decides whether a wood floor stays flat. Professionally installed across Pickerington.

Built for Pickerington homes.
Pickerington was founded in 1815 as Jacksonville and renamed in 1827 for Abraham Pickering. It only became a city in 1991, and it has grown hard since — 23,094 residents at the 2020 census and an estimated 25,814 by 2024, up 11.8%. Most of that arrived as new subdivisions, which means most of the flooring we do here is replacing builder-grade carpet and vinyl in houses barely old enough to need it.
Pickerington spans Fairfield and Franklin counties and sits just east of Columbus, which is the whole story of its growth. It was certified as a city only in 1991, and the population reached 23,094 at the 2020 census with an estimate of 25,814 by 2024 — an 11.8% rise. The city describes its own expansion as mirroring the growth of Columbus and its suburbs through annexation and development.
What that produces is a housing stock dominated by construction from the nineties onward, and a very consistent flooring pattern. Those houses were finished with carpet and thin sheet vinyl chosen to hit a builder's price point, and somewhere between year five and year eight the owners are done with it. That is the bulk of our work here and it is straightforward when the subfloor has been left alone since.
The two things to check on houses of that era are flatness and slab moisture. Open-plan layouts are standard, which means one continuous plank run crossing an entry, a kitchen and a living space with nothing to break it up — and a long uninterrupted run reads every deviation in the deck below it. A high spot at a panel joint shows as a ridge, a low spot goes hollow underfoot. That check happens before we order material, because leveling compound is trivial then and impossible later.
Olde Pickerington Village is the exception to all of it. The older properties around the original village center are a different job entirely — settled decks, layered previous floors, and stairs that need measuring individually rather than estimating.
Because Pickerington houses tend to be uniform in age, people here usually do a whole floor at once rather than a room at a time. That is where financing comes up most often, and Synchrony Home offers 6, 12 and 36-month terms at 0% for qualifying customers depending on the size of the purchase.
We are around thirty minutes out, and samples come to the house rather than you coming to us.

Hardwood Flooring in Pickerington, questions
Solid or engineered hardwood — which should I choose?
It depends on the room, the subfloor and the moisture conditions. Engineered handles below-grade and concrete subfloors better; solid can be refinished more times. We compare both against your actual space.
How long does a hardwood install take?
It varies with project size, removal, subfloor preparation, stairs and site conditions. We give you the expected timeline at your complimentary in-home consultation.
