Johnstown sits at the northwest corner of Licking County, laid out around 1810 by Dr. Oliver Bigelow, who donated the streets and the town square. It counted 5,182 people at the 2020 census. It is also the closest small town to Intel's New Albany site, and while that project has been pushed back to 2030 and 2031, the housing that anticipated it is already here.
