Stair & Trim Installation in Johnstown, OH

Stairs, transitions and trim are the details that decide whether a new floor looks installed or looks finished. They are also the most common reason a flooring quote moves after the fact, so we measure them at the appointment and price them with the job. Professionally installed across Johnstown.

Hardwood and LVP stairs

Hard-surface stairs need matching treads, risers and nosings, and the nosing profile is what makes the flight read as part of the floor rather than an approximation of it. Where the stair material has to match a floor from a different product line, we tell you honestly how close the match will be.

Open sides and returns need mitered ends worked on site. It is slow and it is the difference between a staircase that looks built and one that looks covered.

Measured individually

We measure every tread, every riser and every landing at the in-home appointment. It takes longer than counting steps and it is the only way to price a staircase accurately.

The same visit covers the transitions: which doorways change material, what the height difference is at each one, and whether anything has to be undercut or made up.

Stairs & Trim in Johnstown

Built for Johnstown homes.

Johnstown sits at the northwest corner of Licking County, laid out around 1810 by Dr. Oliver Bigelow, who donated the streets and the town square. It counted 5,182 people at the 2020 census. It is also the closest small town to Intel's New Albany site, and while that project has been pushed back to 2030 and 2031, the housing that anticipated it is already here. We bring samples out and measure before we quote.

Then there is the other Johnstown. Intel's semiconductor site sits on nearly 1,000 acres in the Licking County part of New Albany, a short drive south, and the announcement in 2022 set off a wave of residential building across this end of the county. The plants themselves have been delayed — Intel now expects the first factory around 2030 and the second in 2031 or later — but the subdivisions that were built in anticipation are finished and occupied.

What that mix means practically is that we will not quote Johnstown off a photograph. A 2023 build and an 1890 house on the same errand need different products and different preparation, and the only way to know which you have is to look under the floor that is down now.
